Discussion Series 4: Tipping elements, irreversibility and abrupt change in the Earth system - Permafrost (16:00-17:30 CET - ONLINE)

Following on from the first events in this series, we now focus on permafrost.

This event will include two keynote presentations:

• An update on permafrost tipping - Hanne Hvidtfeld Christiansen
• Model insight on permafrost change  - Gustaf Hugelius

The presentations will be followed by 20 minutes of formal discussions and, for those who wish to stay on, a further 25 minutes of informal discussions on the topic.

This discussion series is a joint activity of Analysis, Integration, and Modeling of the Earth System (AIMES), the Earth Commission, and the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) Safe Landing Climates Lighthouse Activity.
