Council of the EU

Informally also known as the Council, it meets in 10 different configurations, each corresponding to the policy area being discussed. Depending on the configuration, each country sends their minister responsible for that policy area to discuss, amend and adopt laws, and coordinate policies. This work is supported by dedicated thematic working groups managed by the Permanent Representations of the Member States.

The WMO EU Affairs office coordinates the WMO members’ engagement with their representatives in the Council working groups on any relevant topic.
