People behind the numbers

Milica Djordjevic, Head of Weather Watch, Hydrometeorological Service of the Republic of Srpska

Milica Djordjevic is the Head of Weather Watch in the Hydrometeorological Service of the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is responsible for forecasts and warnings on severe weather events. Milica is a Member and Vice-chair of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Standing Committee on Hydrological Services (SC-HYD). 

In this talk, Milica highlighted the role of hydrometeorological services in providing flood and flash flood warnings with a focus on the human side of these events and reminds us that behind every statistic lies a personal story of loss and survival.
