Tania Gascon
Tania Gascon is a project manager and technical coordinator at the Word Meteorological Organization (WMO) engaged with the country support under on Climate Risk and Early Warning System (CREWS). She has been coordinated the implementation of hydrometeorological monitoring and forecasting systems in the Caribbean (Dominican Republic, Haiti) and West Africa countries, as well as on the improvement of tailored climate, meteorological and hydrological services for warning systems and early actions. Tania is a Hydrometeorologist Engineer with a Master in Hydraulic Engineer from Central University of Venezuela (UCV) and hold a PhD in Hydrological modeling using Satellite Precipitation from Grenoble Alpes University (UGA). In her previous experiences at the Venezuelan Fluid Mechanics Institute (UCV), she contributed to the development of methods to anticipate flash floods and debris flood for Vargas states.
